Paradise Valley is an incorporated town in Maricopa County, Arizona, situated between Phoenix and Scottsdale in the Sonoran Desert. It covers about 15.4 square miles and is bordered by Camelback Mountain to the south, the Phoenix Mountain Preserve to the west, and the McDowell Mountains to the east.

Growth in the area accelerated after World War II, when the area transformed from an agricultural landscape into a residential community, with subdivisions emerging in the 1950s. The town was formally incorporated on May 24, 1961, after a citizens committee petitioned Maricopa County for township recognition.

Things to do

Camelback Mountain, part of the Phoenix Mountains Preserve, sits at the southern edge of the town and offers the Echo Canyon and Cholla hiking trails, both rated as difficult due to steep, rocky terrain. Mummy Mountain, located within Paradise Valley near the J.W. Marriott Camelback Inn, offers additional walking trails. The town also features golf courses, resort amenities such as pools and spas, and proximity to museums and art galleries in the surrounding area.
