Schools
The Maricopa Unified School District is the main public school district serving the city, operating six elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools, and an online school. Some neighborhoods within city limits fall under the Casa Grande Elementary and Casa Grande Union High School Districts instead, and MUSD has been reviewing boundary adjustments, including changes approved for the 2026-2027 school year. Getting around
State Route 347, also known as John Wayne Parkway through parts of the city, is the primary route through Maricopa, running from SR 84 near Stanfield north to Interstate 10 near Sun Lakes. The city has an Amtrak stop, described as the only one in the Phoenix area. Maricopa is within driving distance of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Phoenix-Mesa Gateway Airport.

Copper Sky Recreation Complex is a city-managed park along State Route 347 featuring a gym, playing fields, pool, splash pad, walking path, amphitheater, and pond. The Copper Sky Regional Park covers about 98 acres with baseball, softball, and multi-purpose fields, basketball, tennis, and volleyball courts, a five-acre fishing lake, an amphitheater, playgrounds, a dog park, batting cages, and a skate plaza. Pacana Park is a roughly 28-acre facility with additional softball and multi-purpose fields and basketball courts.
